Texas Driver Education Online for Ages 14 and Up!
Completing Your Teen Driver Ed Requirement
The Texas Department of Public Safety requires teens between the ages of 14 and 17 to complete 32 hours of driver education and 44 hours of driver training in order to apply for a driver's permit. This can be done through an approved Texas parent-taught driver education (PTDE) program. Here's how our approved PTDE program works:
- Register your teen
- Complete downloadable packet for DPS and mail
- Complete first unit and we will send you free certificate to apply for your permit! (Teens 15 and up can apply for permit after 1st unit with proper DL forms)
- Complete course material
- Complete 44 driving hours
Online Adult Driver Education
This adult driver ed course was developed so you can complete your TX driver license requirement 100% online. No written tests at the DPS! Once you've finished, we will process your completion and mail the state-issued certificate to provide the DPS when applying for your license.
Texas Defensive Driving Online
Defensive driving is the most common way Texas drivers can remove points from a traffic ticket. While available in the classroom for years, defensive driving is now offered online so you can take advantage of the program from home, the office or any place with access to the internet.
