El Paso Defensive Driving

If you got a traffic ticket in Horizon City, Socorro, Clint or anywhere else in El Paso County, TexasDrivingSchool.com is here to help. If your traffic ticket is eligible, you may take a defensive driving course to dismiss the ticket and avoid increases on your insurance premiums.

First you must be approved by an El Paso County Court to take defensive driving. Your citation will list an arraignment date, and you have until then to request defensive driving.

In El Paso County, there are four ways to request defensive driving:

  1. In Person: You may apply in person at a bond office, where you will also fill out required paperwork and pay associated court costs. The bond locations:

    • Pebble Hills — 10780 A Pebble Hills
    • Westside — 4801 Osborne
    • Northeast — 9600 Dyer Northeast Municipal Annex
    • Mission Valley — 9011 Escobar
  2. By Mail: On the back of your citation is a section called "Driver's Safety Course." Fill this section out, and send it to:

    El Paso Municipal Court
    810 E Overland
    El Paso, TX 79901

You will receive paperwork that states whether you are approved for defensive driving, and what your associated court costs and fees will be. These will be due 10 days from the day the court mailed the documents.

  3. By Fax: Fill out the "Driver's Safety Course" section on your citation, and fax it to: (915) 546-2939. The court will mail you paperwork that states if you have been approved for defensive driving and what your court costs are. You must pay the court costs within 10 days from the day the court mailed the documents.

  4. At Arraignment: You may wait until the court date on your citation and appear in court before a judge to request defensive driving. Arraignments are held at:

    Northeast Municipal Annex
    9600 Dyer St
    El Paso, TX 77924

It should be noted that if you are under the age of 18, your only option to request defensive driving is at an arraignment before a judge.
